Matakana

Recent additions of a supermarket and hardware store ensure the essentials are never far away. The laid-back atmosphere is perfect for immersing yourself in the local arts scene, with small galleries and a distinct local flavour.

Warkworth

Warkworth has been the hub of rural life since the 1850s. You’ll find some of the best local produce available, and of course a diverse shopping precinct with everything from those everyday essentials to treats and boutiques. There really is something to suit everyone. On the edge of town the Cement Works are a popular summer attraction as a fresh-water swimming hole. Further afield there are walks, nature reserves and plenty of sporting amenities for those seeking some active relaxation.
